Please note, bills that start with HB were introduced first a the house, while bills the start with SB were introduced into the senate. Each bill needs to pass both the house and senate as well as be signed off by the governor to become law.

HB 961 Assault firearms, certain firearm magazines, etc.; prohibiting sale, transport, etc., penalties. Effectively bans the sales of all AR15 rifles and many other sportsman rifles. [view bill]

SB 35 Firearms, etc.; permitted events. Authorizes any locality by ordinance to prohibit the possession or carrying of firearms, ammunition, or components or any combination thereof in (i) any building, or part thereof, owned or used by such locality for governmental purposes; (ii) in any public park owned by the locality; or (iii) in any public street, road, alley, sidewalk etc. [view bill]

SB 51 Carrying a concealed handgun; consumption of alcohol in a public park, penalty. Will make it illegal to conceal carry in public places where alcohol is being sold, even if the person carrying is not drinking. [view bill]

SB 22 Handguns; limitation on purchases, penalty. Will only allow for one handgun purchase per month. [view bill]

Status: House: N/A Senate: In Committee


SB 64 Paramilitary activities; penalty. This bill will make it illegal to hold gun rally in support of second amendment rights. Will be unlawful, while assembled with one or more persons, to brandish a firearm … with the intent of intimidating any person or group of persons. [view bill]

SB 240 Firearms; removal from persons posing substantial risk of injury to himself, etc., penalties. Allows for removal of firearms before there is a fair trial. [view bill]
